“Serving our Men and Women in the US Military”
Hello, my name is David Clark and I am 44 years old. I was born and raised in Kirkville, NY and still live here. I have been an over the road truck driver/fleet owner for over 23 yrs. I’ve driven over 3 million miles accident free with a clean CDL-A license and am very proud to say that. I guess I took interest with wanting to help out our Vets and injured military personnel because I feel they deserve the best for what they have given to me, Freedom. I did some research on the injured and wondered how they could make it back home or to the next rehabilitation location if they couldn’t take public transportation. It dawned on me; I need to come up with something to help those in need.
It’s kind of like me doing my part to give something back to those who have served for me .I used to have a partnership; we had a bus that we did wine tours and bar hops with. That’s when I decided that a bus would be the perfect thing to transport those in need .Let me remind you, this is for those that truly cannot make it on any other form of public transportation. This is where my mission comes in.
Our non-profit organization will provide free transportation to our men and women in the US military who have been injured in the line of duty. When they are released from the hospital and aren’t able to take public transportation due to the injuries obtained, we will pick them up and take them and their family either back home or to a rehabilitation center giving everyone peace of mind and no worries of how they are going to make this journey. We will provide free travel & meals to them while in transit.
I’m forming this non-profit organization to help raise money to purchase a 1997 Prevost entertainer coach which includes 12 bunks, a bathroom and kitchenette. We will also convert the coach and put in a full shower to accommodate people in wheel chairs. Also, we will be installing a queen size bed in the back for them to lie down while in transit. The price of this coach is $85,000.00. *Any donations are tax deductible* We are in the process of contacting truck stops around the country to see if they would be willing to provide the fuel and oil for the coach to help out in this quest.
As for me, I know that I have to sacrifice weeks, months or longer being away from my own family, but our soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice for protecting us and our country. This is the least I could do for our American troops who paid the ultimate price for protecting you and I, our country.
